The pendulum has started to swing …..there will be ALOT more people walking after the next few years…..the days when you could buy a decent car for $900 and drive it for years without problems, is over.

America is a joke. I don’t feel the same way about America as I do now. So fucking wasteful.

Ford’s the best out there. I love mine. It’s going to keep running forever. Its reliable. Its a 98 explorer and it runs better than most of those foreigns. 162000 miles and counting. Ford can build a car without a gas pedal sticking. I dont think toyota did. Ford all the way.

Actually the imports are assembled in the US the part’s and what not are made over sea’ and sent here to be put together. As for reliable brands pontiac is awesome brand even though it’s gone now i have had my grand am gt for 5 yr’s now and i have only replaced the battery as well as the normal tune up . The way i see it,it’s all about how you take care of it that depends on the reliability.

correction Ford is the game changer and is proving its self and its bail out free and is still owned by the founding family, Chrysler,,,,, i mean Fiatysler is a utter failure along with GM, and even so with imports building some of there cars and trucks here, the fact of the matter is the money is still being exported out of the country, and Toyota has already announced they have no future plans of any more North American factories, thus domestics are a larger part of the manufacturing sector

Apparently a lot of you guys don’t know that the majority of Nissan, Honda, and Toyota’s that are sold here are built here (which give our citizens jobs). I’d drive either of the 3 I named over any American made vehicle, I like reliability instead of having to fix shit left and right. The only American company I’m fond of is Chrysler. Other than that I wouldn’t own an American made vehicle. Well atleast not until they improve what they sell.

they actually dont have much use other than what can be legally reused…the whole point of the cash for clunkers is to help sales, get old junky cars that “polute” off the road, and get people to drive more efficient vehicles.

well the drivetrain parts will not be reused and can’t be reused legally, and thus what worth do these clunked vehicles have? sure someone can get the good body panels, but what else is there? interior parts? the suspension and brake parts are often bought brand new by consumers, so when the drivetrain is clunked what good is the clunked vehicle in the end?

well you can blame Obama, the youth rallied behind him in the elections, but look what he is doing, he has destroyed thousands of affordable used cars that the poor and youth depend on, so how is that hope and change working for ya?

well every make has its lemons, no company is perfect, but i do think Ford is doing great, and there quality is second to none, and there actually making the other 2 domestics look like fools, but in all reality why should Canadian or American tax dollars go fund cars companies that import vehicles and thus only damaging our economy, also the foreign companies will never replace domestic production, and Toyota has announced no further plans for new plants in North America

where in Canada? the Canadian plan allowed all vehicles 1995 and older to be cashed in under our clunker program here, but i understand the American Cash for clunker program only went back as far as 1985, thus how did a 1969 Camaro get clunked? if they did, then they broke the rules

because american cars are trash. im a used car dealer and i know. foreign cars run circles around american trash. dont blame anyone for trading in their sorry-ass ford taurus or chevy malibu for a honda civic or toyota camry. i deal with the quality and PROBLEMS with american cars everyday. apparantly we just refuse to put out a quality product. go buy a dodge neon and enjoy its wonderful problems. i hate saying it, but american cars are absolute garbage.

    I really hate this program!
    Because it helps import sales.
It helps Ford sales too, but Don`t help GM and Chrysler.
Many Americans are going to kill DOMESTIC to buy IMPORT.
    DOMESTIC decreases, and IMPORT increases.
    Why buy Toyota?
    Did you know?
Toyota`s first engine was COPY of GM`s Engine.
I`m a Japanese, but I really love Americans. :P oor that white Exploler….
That is very beautiful nice SUV to mee.
That is not Clunker…. That car`s Owner is Clunker…….

wtf! there being destroyed? Why can’t we give these clunkers to students and young adults that actually NEED these cars instead of destroying them! I’m in need of a car. This just blows me.. Mostly everyone thats buying a car via the CFC program is buying imports, thats not going to stimulate our economy.

they actually strip the cars that are traded in under the cash for clunkers. certain parts are able to be rebuilt or sold while as the rest have to be crushed and recycled. the cash for clunkers helped Ford sales a lot…probably more than most lol. toyota and honda went up a bit ofcorse. the only company that didnt benefit from this is Chrysler…

thanks for the backup, and that matt idiot was a oxymoron, he is knocking Fords on these clunker videos, well there 90s Fords in the videos, yet he says the 90s Fords are old and good, the new ones, 2000 and up are crap? yet not many 2000 and up Fords where in the clunker videos, this user is a oxymoron, and he says the government can do what ever it wants? no the people make the decisions, the government is the servant of the people, we can easily vote the idiots out, this isn’t the USSR YET!

  23. BRENTHENRY1989

    Mar 7th, 2010

i think its the fact that so many used cars are exiting the market before there time, i am sure there are some real heaps getting canned, but many good used cars and trucks are getting crushed, thus people in the low income bracket, and entry level (new drivers) will get the shaft, also this whole program is only stealing future sales, thus there is no gain, this program will do more damage than good, that’s are beef, plus its more wasteful spending, thus the tax payer pays anyways in the end

    2 questions:

    1) C4C isn’t mandatory, no-ones MAKING you turn your car in and go into debt for a new one, so why the bitching?

    2) Why are so many people who ARE turning their cars in driving away in a new Japanese car? Why not an American car. There’s gotts be SOMETHING in that.

And before anyone abuses me – I own a 1975 Cadillac. It’s on my profile.
